Eyebrow Threading @ Nailaholics

Leave a comment Standard

So, you are thinking that Nailaholics Nail Salon & Spa is only limited to nail, hand and foot related services?  Well, you are absolutely WRONG!  In fact, there are packages and additional services that you won’t even think that they are offering.  I tried their eyebrow threading while having foot spa last week and I was very pleased with the result.

Before and After the Eyebrow Threading

Special thanks to Mian 🙂  She was very careful and patient with me.  She made sure that the pain was tolerable.  She consults first before making a decision and gives her suggestion also.  Threading of the brows costs P190 and it can be done in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Aside from their traditional hand and foot spa packages, here are other services that you might be interested with:

How to Deal With Stress

Leave a comment Standard

Everybody deals with STRESS  and nobody can escape it no matter what status do you have in life.  Whether that is family, health, work, financial or heart-related stress, you need to find a way to get over it.  So, how do we do that?  I have here some tips that actually worked for me .  It may not work for the others but it’s worth a try anyway 🙂

  1.  Have a COFFEE BREAK (alone or with a buddy)

If you cannot afford to go to a coffee shop, a cup of coffee with a special someone or your best buddy at home will be perfect to have a nice chitchat or share your troubles.

img_3223

2.  Have a GOOD SLEEP or power nap especially if you have a headache.

Most of the time, the cause of stress is lack of sleep so you really need the time to take a nap or have a long sleep.  I won’t recommend taking sleeping pills;  instead, you may drink a glass of milk.  Reading or playing games in your mobile phone may help you sleep.

3   Have a STAYCATION with friends or your family even for a day to help you unwind.  Traveling to a far place can cause you even more stress, so choose a nearby hotel.

img_3231

4.  DESTRESSING SESSION in a Spa or Wellness Center near you

A soothing massage, facial, body scrub and foot spa can be helpful to achieve relaxation.  One of the spas I recommend is Z Spa, a 420 square meter spa located in 2/F Ace Hotel, Kapitolyo, Pasig City.  All the furnishings and equipments are NEW and of high standard and the beauty products used are all naturals and were ordered abroad.  I have found another spa near our area but I will tell more about the details in my separate post.

img_2610

5.  CUT DOWN ON YOUR EXPENSES especially if you are dealing with financial problem.  (I am only going to choose 2 credit cards and will deactivate them once I have settled all my bills).

6.  HAVE A HEALTHY DIET and do not starve yourself.

If you need to destress, you need to have a healthy and strong body and sharp mind.  Refrain from eating too much or too less because your body needs food to have enough strength and energy for your daily activity.

Whether you like it or not, we can encounter STRESS, so it’s already an advantage if you know how to deal with it 🙂

TBIP’s Upcoming Baguio Trip

Leave a comment Standard

Hello!  Since December is the only month this year where I can have a short break and unwind, I decided to have my press trip in Baguio City.  We are really busy and we still have work until 22nd and a lot of parties and other events are also scheduled that’s why I have chosen to have our vacay on the 27th til the 30th of this month.  We will be staying in Microtel Baguio (one of my favorite places to stay when I am in Baguio).

In our four-day stay in the Summer Capital of the Philippnes, I will be featuring different cafes, restaurants, bakeries/pastry shops and spas to visit.  (Watch out for that- I will be posting these establishments in my Facebook and Instagram account as well.)

Aside from that here are the activities that we will be having:

  1.  The Lourdes Grotto Challenge
  2.  Pasalubong Shopping
  3.  Strawberry Picking
  4. Horseback Riding and Biking
  5.  Oh My Gulay (Vegetables)  and Fruits Haggling Challenge
  6.  Halukay sa Ukay-Ukay

Originally, we are booked only until the 29th but since I have a lot of businesses to feature, I extended another day.  Thank you, Microtel Baguio for granting my request 🙂    I will see if I can still squeeze some time to have more activities.  Any suggestions?  Feel free to leave a comment below.

My Fitness Challenge Update

Leave a comment Standard

By now, you already know that i’m currently enrolled in Fitness First for 18 months.  I haven’t been in the Metroeast Club for quite a while because lately I felt strange and it’s like I was physically drained and exhausted.  I think it has something to do with the last two sessions I had in the club.  Last Thursday, I had my 3rd session with my PT and based from MY assessment (not theirs) , I am not fit for strenuous activities.  Though I know that their goal for the said assessment is to see how far can you go and from there, they can design the right exercises or workout for you.  I’ve been very vocal with my trainer that I do not intend to participate in any group classes like Zumba and freestyle dancing.  I enrolled there so I can use their machines for cardio workout.  I just want simple exercises that would help me achieve that beach-ready body on April 2018.  Since I only get the chance to go to the club for twice or thrice per week, I do the daily workouts at home.

The videos above were taken last Nov. 30, 2017.

img_3055

10 minutes using the stationary bike (Dec. 1, 2017)

The day after my assessment (Friday), I still managed to go to the club and use their machines but then that particular night then the whole Saturday, I felt really weak and drained.  I didn’t manage to go out like I do every weekend.  I ended up in bed the whole day to rest and luckily, on Sunday, gradually I felt the energy coming back.  I think another factor that affected what I have experienced is STRESS.

Upon reflecting,  I remembered that you don’t have to rely on workouts or exercises alone, 80% would depend on the kind of diet that you have so I really need to plan about my meals and it will just be supplemented with exercises.  Also, aside from the workout, I am also planning to have my relaxation routine as part of my preparation this coming summer.  Hopefully, I can scout for my perfect spa partner (along Marcos Highway) within the month.

I will give you an update in a separate post about my last PT session.  Have a productive week ahead 🙂

TORMOJ CAFE- An Alternative Hangout in Ortigas Center

Leave a comment Standard

It’s quite unusual to discover a cafe that offers inexpensive food and drinks. especially if you are in a business district like Makati or Ortigas Center– Well, I’m fortunate enough that I have discovered TORMOJ Cafe in 8137 Plaza, Escriba Drive, Ortigas Center, pasig City.   You might be amazed why the prices are affordable and you might think as well that they just offer the usual food that you see in sidewalk eateries or cafeterias.  The menu can be compared with the popular restaurants or cafes, but the difference in Tormoj Cafe is that even the students and ordinary employees/workers can afford to hang out here.

Just last week, my kids and I were able to try their bestsellers.   As a food blogger, a visit to a restaurant or cafe won’t be complete without trying chicken, dessert and the coffee.  We started with their rice meals since we arrived at past 1pm already.   When the lemon chicken was served, I felt the excitement.   I liked the blend of cream and lemon in their sauce.   Even my daughter who is also a picky eater like me enjoyed this and the Pork Belly.  (Usually it would take her an hour to finish her meals, but not this time!)

Pork Belly for P129.00

I tried the Pesto Pasta which was very tasty but because my son Kyle enjoyed it, I ended up having the Chicken Cajun Pasta instead.  I actually prefer it over the Pesto Pasta because I don’t get sick with the spicy and strong taste.   I do not have any complain at all– the noodles were cooked al dente and no unpleasant taste.

And because I am a certified COFFEE ADDICT,  my visit won’t be complete without trying their coffee.

Iced Coffee

I loved the Iced Coffee– not too sweet and strong.  It was perfect to pair with the Chicken Cajun Pasta.

The kids loved the Choco Java Chip Fraffe and Halo-halo.  If you would just like to chill or have a place to do your assignment, finish a project or conduct business or group meetings, this place is perfect for you.

Vietnamese Coffee with Kahlia

The highlight of my visit is experiencing their Vietnamese Coffee with Kahlia.  I couldn’t get over the taste- soooooo addictive!  Below is a video of the actual preparation of their Vietnamese Coffee (personally prepared by Ms. Sharen Mojares)- the daughter of the owner, Tita Mojares.

The only thing that they need to work on with in the future is providing more space to their customers.  They already have a clean, decent place with cozy ambiance, but it can only accommodate up to 15 to 20 pax.  Other than that, we do not have any issues at all.  They serve delectable dishes and you can even request them to cook a special dish if ever it is not in the menu.  They are open from Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm.

I highly recommend TORMOJ CAFE– this cafe is worth a visit when you are in Ortigas Center or near the area.

Achieving My Beauty Routine @Nailaholics

Leave a comment Standard

I have a BIG revelation this coming summer and I am carefully planning about it.   Part of my preparation for this is to have a fitness and beauty routine.  I am already working on my achieving my beach-ready body by being a member of Fitness First.   I get to visit the club at Robinson’s Metroeast thrice per week, but I do my workout at home daily so I also burn some calories.  I am already working on creating my own meal plan that will help me achieve my fitness goals.  I know that I am already in the right track but it isn’t enough yet.

Because of the nature of my job, I am superstressed all the time so I need to devote a little of my precious time to destress.  Aside from having facials, body scrubs to achieve the perfect glow of my skin on April, I also need to have hair, foot and nail pampering.

In this post, I will share about the Vitamin Sea Package that I had in Nailaholics Nail Salon & Spa after my workout.  It is so convenient for me because it is also located in the 3rd Floor of Robinson’s MetroEast, Marcos Highway, Cainta, Rizal–so, right after my workout, I can also have my destressing session there.

Upon entering Nailaholics, I was relaxed by the clean and quiet ambiance.   They have a summer backdrop that will set your mood to relax.  I had their Vitamin Sea Package (manicure, pedicure and foot spa)  I loved the feeling while my feet were soaked in the warm water.

img_2897

I met these gorgeous and friendly staff (Jho- who did the foot spa and pedicure & Rubie who did the manicure).  I have chosen the color of my nail polish– guess what?  Yes, you’re correct, hihi!  I have chosen pink 🙂  I would have tried nail art, but then they do not have the tools.  They have it in the other branches– it just happened that they do not have it when I came.  In the Vitamin Sea Package, they use the regular but branded nail polish.  They recommend the gel polish as it stays longer than the regular ones.  Hmmm, probably next time I will have the gel manicure and pedicure.  I was informed that they have an ongoing 15% discount to their gel manicure and pedicure.

img_3118

Compared to the other salons, Nailaholics makes sure what the customers want.  Rubie asked first about the desired length and shape of my fingernails.  She gently massaged the fingers  and asked me if I felt any pain at all.  You will totally feel comfortable and would like to stay for the rest of the day, hehehe 🙂

I’ve been to other nail salons and I was used to the experience that the attendant was always in a hurry so in about less than 15 or 20 minutes, I’m already done with the foot spa and pedicure and of course, I ended up dissastisfied with the service.   I was surprised  that it took them more or less one hour for the whole service.

If you would like to try the Vitamin Sea Package and their other packages as well, you can visit Nailaholics.  Please click their website for their services and branches.
